Safety single phase transformers

The transformers of the P, Q, N and IP series are single-phase equipment with galvanic isolation that are specially designed to isolate circuits, thus being able to increase or decrease the output voltage as well as to ensure the galvanic isolation of installations for safety reasons.

These series are subdivided according to their output voltages:

  • PB/QB/NB 230/400/460V inputs and 12/24V outputs.
  • PB/QB/NC 230/400/460V inputs and 24/48V outputs.
  • IPB 230/400V inputs and outputs 12/24V.

The P, Q and N series includes a rating range as from 40VA up to 2000 VA and due to its design, an IP20 degree of protection is obtained that prevents direct electrical contact and perfectly protects the windings.

On the other hand, the IP series includes a rating range as from 100VA up to 2000VA and its IP54 cover makes these devices an ideal solution for outdoor installations.

Some of its utilities:

  • The isolation of circuits, being able to increase or decrease the voltage at the output.
  • To change the neutral regime of the installations, being able to go from a two-phase network to a single-phase network or vice versa (this case implies the generation of the artificial neutral).
  • In installations with a certain level of electrical noise, the use of a transformer helps to improve the quality of the electrical network in its secondary.
  • Installations where safety voltages are required (<50 V).
  • Being able to isolate the most sensitive devices in a control panel.
  • Extract different control voltages in an electrical panel.
