K factor three phase transformers

In the TTFK series, we find isolation transformers for three-phase networks with a high level of harmonics. They have a 400V three-phase input and a 400V three-phase output and a rating range as from 1kVA up to 100kVA.

These “k” factor transformers are used to withstand the overheating produced by harmonics from non-linear loads and it is possible to manufacture models with different “K” values.

A k=13 factor transformer is used when the harmonic load represents 30% of the total load.

A k=20 factor transformer is used when the harmonic load represents 60% of the total load.

We can find different versions depending on their degree of protection:

  • TTFKX / TTFK2X: IP00
  • TTFKW / TTFK2W: IP23
  • TTFKZ / TTFK2Z: IP54/65

Constructive features:

  • All the transformers are dipped in anti-flash varnish and then compacted in the oven. This process increases the insulation grade, reduces noise and provides anti-moisture, waterproofed protection.
  • All the connection terminals are made of copper. For transformers with aluminium coils, internal bimetallic AL-CU connections are made by welding with filling and sealing material to ensure a safe, long-lasting connection.
