POLYLUX commits to sustainability and has implemented a photovoltaic installation
At POLYLUX we have taken a step further in our commitment to sustainability by installing a photovoltaic self-consumption system in our production center located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona.
The solar installation, operational since March 2022, is made up of 264 photovoltaic panels located on the roofs of the factory that have a power of 100kWp and occupy an area of 1000m2. Thanks to the incorporation of this system, it is estimated that solar production from renewable sources will generate 59% of the energy consumed per year.
In order to combat climate change and reduce costs, an investment of more than 100,000 euros has been allocated to this project, which will contribute to the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, achieving an annual 66 tons of CO2 reduction.
The implementation of the renewable energy system will mean either savings in the electricity supply bill or the possibility of establishing a price containment strategy for our customers.
In recent years, in our commitment to technological innovation and respect for the environment, we have promoted different initiatives that have resulted in an improvement in energy efficiency, such as the replacement of the traditional lighting system with LED luminaires. For this reason, with the implementation of the photovoltaic project, we reinforce our commitment to sustainability and add a new milestone in performance of taking actions to move forward in sustainable development and in the reduction of the carbon footprint.
